Red Velvet - "Cosmic" MV Review

Image
Photo source: SM Ent/ Red Velvet X (Twitter) account After releasing " Chill Kill " ( Review ) on November 2023, Red Velvet has made their newest comeback to celebrate their upcoming 10th anniversary (on August 1st) with their mini-album Cosmic -"Cosmic" also being the name of the lead single-. "Cosmic" Review "Cosmic" is, in my opinion, Red Velvet's best single since " Psycho " in 2019 -I did like "Chill Kill" when it was released, but now I can't remember how it goes off the top of my head (unlike other Red Velvet songs)-  The beat of the song is super catchy, and the structure of the song is really nice. I have to say that the first time I listened to "Cosmic," I found the chorus to be a little bit underwhelming at the start (I thought that it was going to have more pizazz), but I liked the part that says, "I'm riding on your rhythm, through the solar system" and what comes after. Now that I

NewJeans Debuts in Japan with "Supernatural" - MV Review

Image
Photo source: Ador/HYBE Today, NewJeans has officially made their Japanese debut with their newest song, "Supernatural." Less than a month ago, on May 24, NewJeans made their first comeback of 2024 with the song "How Sweet" ( Review ). As the MV has two parts, I may edit this post with part two next week (unless the MV's are too similar). "Supernatural" Review Lately, NewJeans songs have been a hit or miss with me, so when "Right Now" -the b-side track of "Supernatural-" dropped first and I didn't like it very much, I tried not to get very disappointed and trust everything on the real lead single "Supernatural" actually being good and I'm that I did because the song is good (but not as good as "Ditto") I have to say that "Supernatural" is my favorite summer release of NewJeans (I'm more of Winter!NewJeans kind of girl). I really like the retro city pop vibes of this song, especially the voca

JEONGHAN X WONWOO - "Last Night (어젯밤)" MV Review

Image
Photo source: Pledis Jeonghan and Wonwoo are both members of Seventeen, and they have recently released their first single album,  This Man ,   featuring the song "Last Night" as the lead single. "Last Night" Review When it was announced that Jeonghan and Wonwoo were going to have a sub-unit together, it took me by surprise because, in my head, they were one of the Seventeen duos least likely to happen -I mean, you could see that BSS was eventually going to happen from a mile away- but color me surprised as they fit very well together both vocally and aesthetically. The song is fantastic, the Spanish guitar played by Park Joo-Won is marvelous, and the beat during the chorus is perfect. The softness of Jeonghan's voice and the deepness of Wonwoo's voice complement each other and they both blend well with the instrumental of the song. The MV is beautiful, but I didn't understand it very much ¯\_(ツ)_/¯.  I did read that the concept of the album is  "i

RIIZE - "Boom Boom Bass" MV Review

Image
Photo source: SM ENT/ Riize's X (Twitter) account . Previously, in April, Riize pre-released the songs " Impossible "( Review ), " One Kiss " and " 9 Days " ( Review ) for their then-upcoming first mini-album RIIZING . Now,  my  ...ahem,  the long wait is over, and Riize has finally released RIIZING  and its lead single and title track, "Boom Boom Bass." "Boom Boom Bass" Review "Boom Boom Bass" is the funky version of "Get A Guitar," and it makes sense as both songs were composed by the same people . I just have to say that I love both songs a lot, and so far, Riize hasn't let me down.  I love bass lines in songs and the nice, groovy bass sound of "Boom Boom Bass" is absolutely fantastic. The pre-chorus ( example ) reminds me of Daft Punk  and I'm all in for that. The only disappointing thing about this song is its length. 2:33 is too short. The MV is nice, fun and chaotic. I really like the sh
