Aespa - "Supernova" MV Review

Promotional picture for the release of Aespa's music video "Supernova" from left to right Giselle, Karina, Winter and NingNing pose with their personal logos for this comeback in front of them. They are posing in front of a white and pink gradient background while their outline is a transparent pink that looks as if they were shining

"Supernova" is a pre-release and one of the title tracks for Aespa's first full Album, Armageddon, coming out on May 27 ("Armageddon" is going to be the name of the other title track).
"Supernova" is Aespa first -real-* single of 2024 after the release of "Drama" (Review) on November 10,2023.

"Supernova"

As I wrote before in my review of Aespa's "Drama", I have loved almost every song by Aespa, and "Supernova" is no exception.
This song sounds like something you hear in a car commercial or a runaway show -especially in the scenes of the music video where Ningning is walking on the sidewalk- and you immediatly have to go searching for the name of the song.
I love the bass that appears throughout the song; the whole instrumental is truly amazing.
This song is so Aespa-coded ﹘ I loved every part of it -I can't even choose my favorite part-.

The MV of "Supernova" is a masterpiece; the colors are great and the editing is fantastic.
In this music video, I believe that the Aespa members have new powers. Karina, whose previous superpower was "Rocket Puncher" (if you don't know what it is, don't worry, it's exactly what it's described in the name), now also has super strength. Giselle's previous power was "Xenoglossy" (which is the power to understand, and speak every language), now she can manipulate time. Winter's previous power was "Armamenter" (which is the power to use every weapon), now she can fly, and Ningning, whose previous power was "E.D Hacker" (I don't know what "E.D" means, but if you read the official universe terminology written in a forum for Aespa's collaboration with the mobile game Epic Seven it says that "E.D" means "EXIF Detective" which is a hacker group Ningning is associated with. Now the question is, did they just made that explanation for the game? -is it like when Star Wars announced the return of Palpatine through Fortnite all over again?-) now has pyrokinesis. Are the new powers for a future second season of the SM Cinematic Culture Universe? I can only hope! -I wonder if there is a second season, who or what would the main villain be...-
This music video feels like a villain origin story for Giselle as Karina and Ning Ning ruin her birthday. Karina punches a bullet at Giselle's phone, and Ning Ning breaks through a wall and starts a fire in Giselle's apartment
Meanwhile, Winter flies through town and spins continuously on a pole (? I think that Winter spun so much that she just caused a cyclone, which takes us to the ending of the music video. I loved the ending so much ﹘ I found it hilarious.

Style-wise, I loved every look in this music video. They are very consistent with the style of the video.
My favorite looks are Giselle's black and yellow outfit with the arm cast decorated with gems and the matching metallic group outfit at the end of the video.
