VIVIZ - "Shhh!" MV Review (+ a short VOYAGE review)

One year after the release of Versus (Review), Viviz has comeback with their 5th mini album Voyage with "Shhh!" as the title track and lead single.

"Shhh!"

"Shhh!" is a good song but is not as great as Viviz's previous title track (from Versus) "MANIAC."
The song feels a tiny bit dated, in fact, some parts of the instrumental reminded me of Jason Derulo's "Talk Dirty" (2013).
I have a complaint about the chorus; I don't know if it's just me, but instead of hearing "shhh," as the lyrics imply, I keep hearing a swear word that ends with "it." Maybe if the "shhh" sound was a bit longer and softer at the end, I wouldn't be hearing that... 😅

The MV is nice, but there isn't a super standout moment. I liked the scenes at the hotel room/apartment, especially the ones where they are playing with a projector; they look very pretty.

I don't like the choreography during the chorus much. I believe that BPM is just trying to capitalize on the viral dance move of "Maniac," but this time, it feels awkward.

Style-wise, I loved all the outfits in this music video. My absolute favorite outfit is Umji's green two-piece set with black lace; it's very pretty.
In second place, I would put the white with brown faux leather group outfits; the three outfits are very lovely!

Gif from the music video "Shhh!" by Viviz. The gif shows the members individually. SinB is sitting in a bed, Eunha is sitting on a sofa, and Umji is sitting on a TV stand. While the camera pans to the side at a fast pace.

The first time I listened to "Cliché," I didn't enjoy, but the second time I listened to it, I ended up liking it more. The song has a great pace, and the instrumental sounds super nice; I like it.

"Full Moon"

Concept photo for Viviz 5th mini album Voyage. In the picture, SinB poses with her head lowered as if she was looking at the floor. She is standing in front of an orange background.
Length: 2:13.
Lyrics: Kim Ari, Myung Ji-Eun, Oh Yu-Won, A13R, CLEF CREW, and C'SA.
Music: C'SA and Alawn.
Arrangement: Alawn.

"Full Moon" is a great song, I love the melody and the rhythm. The only thing I dislike about this song is the vocal distortion during the chorus (at the "unstoppable" line), but it only happens twice during the song, so I'll just ignore it.

Rating – 10/10

"Hypnotize" is a fantastic song, it feels very calming but it's not boring at all; I love it!

"Love & Tears" is a very lovely song.
When I read the title of this song I thought I wasn't going to like it at all, but when I listened to it I ended up enjoying it quite a lot.

Final Thoughts

VOYAGE is a great mini album, and although it has great b-sides, I found the title track to be lackluster compared to the other songs, but maybe it just has to grow on me.
My favorite song in this mini album is "Hypnotize," which is absolutely fantastic.

Overall VOYAGE Rating – 9/10
