RIIZE - "Talk Saxy" MV Review

Image
Photo source: SM Ent.   "Talk Saxy" is Riize's first comeback after debuting on September 4 with " Get A Guitar " (Review here ) "Talk Saxy" Review "Talk Saxy" although not as good as Riize's previous song, "Get A Guitar", is still a strong release, especially towards the end and is great to showcase the different colors of a rookie group. The catchiest part of the song is the "talk to me to me talk talk to me to me" at 2:37 . When I first read the title I thought the song was going to be more like Alexandra Stan - "Mr. Saxobeat" , Moldova's  Eurovision entry (2010) -  "Run Away" A.K.A epic sax guy  or even Nene Malo - " Bailan Rochas y Chetas " (Sorry), so I was a little disappointed that the titular sax wasn't as "strong" as those songs. The music video is a great reminder of boy group videos from the '90s and '00s, especially the parts with Shotaro and Sohee, w

IVE - "Baddie" MV Review

Image
Photo source: Starship Ent. IVE ( 라이즈 ) is a Starship girl group that debuted on December 1, 2021, and consists of 6 members Yujin (ex-Iz*One), Gaeul, Rei, Wonyoung (ex-Iz*One), Liz and Leeseo. "Baddie" is the title track and the third single of their first Korean Mini Album  I've Mine . "Baddie" Review "Baddie" at 2:34 is a bit too short and relies too much on its hook, but the rest of the song is just there, unlike IVE's previous releases like " Love Dive " and " I Am " who catch your attention the first time you listen to them. The "Imma baddie baddie baddie pretty little risky baddie" in the chorus is catchy, but I find the high-pitched synth to be a tad annoying and that lowers the enjoyment of that part a little. The MV reminds me of some of Red Velvet's MVs and also some scenes made me think of a dark-sided sister of WJSN Chocome's " Super Yuppers! ". I love the cat imagery throughout the MV
